New Alcohol Rules in Novalja 2026 — What Tourists Need to Know
Novalja has introduced new alcohol sales regulations for summer 2026. Here is what you need to know for your Zrce Beach trip.
What Exactly Is Banned?
Between 10 PM and 6 AM, shops, kiosks, and supermarkets in Novalja can no longer sell alcohol. The ban applies only to retail.
What Is NOT Affected?
Clubs, bars, and restaurants are completely exempt. All licensed venues — including the clubs at Zrce Beach — continue to serve alcohol as normal. The party goes on.
Why This Rule?
Novalja wants to curb pre-drinking in public spaces and move the party where it belongs: into clubs and bars.
Croatia-Wide Trend
Split, Hvar, and Dubrovnik have also introduced new rules, including fines up to 4,000 euros for anti-social behavior and penalties for walking shirtless in town centers.
For your Zrce holiday, practically nothing changes. Check our FAQ for more tips, or contact us.
