Prizna–Žigljen Ferry to Pag
The fast alternative to the Pag Bridge: 15-minute crossing from Prizna on the mainland to Žigljen on Pag. Multiple crossings per hour, no reservation required.
Crossing, prices, frequency
The ferry runs from Prizna (right off the A1 motorway between Rijeka and Zadar, Prizna exit) to Žigljen on the northern tip of Pag. From Žigljen it's about 25 minutes to Novalja (18 km). In peak season (July–August) the ferry leaves every 30 minutes, off-season hourly. No online reservation — just drive up to the waiting lane and buy tickets at the booth. During peak weekends, waits can build up to 1–2 hours.
Prices (as of 2026): Car incl. driver 17–25 €, each passenger 4–5 €, motorbike 8–10 €, motorhome significantly more. Prices vary slightly by season. Current rates at jadrolinija.hr.
Ferry or Pag Bridge — which is better?
If you're coming from the north (Rijeka, Slovenia, Austria, Germany), the Prizna–Žigljen ferry is directly on your way and cuts roughly 60 km off the drive to Novalja. The Pag Bridge only makes sense from the south (Zadar, southern Dalmatia). The bridge is toll-free since 2013 and avoids ferry waits — but it's a detour when heading to Novalja.
