Helpful background, tips and explanations in detail.
National Parks Croatia
Croatia offers many impressive national parks not only along the Mediterranean coast and in the capital Zagreb but also inland. Two of the most famous are within reachable distance from Novalja and Zrce Beach: Krka National Park and Plitvice Lakes National Park.
Krka National Park is about 1.5 hours by car from Novalja. It delights with stunning waterfalls, clear lakes, and a beautiful river landscape. Wooden walkways and small bridges lead you to various viewpoints, and at some spots, you even have the opportunity to swim directly under the waterfalls. A perfect destination if you're looking for a change from party life for a day.
The Plitvice Lakes are also easily accessible, with about 2.5 hours of travel. The largest and oldest national park in Croatia impresses with turquoise lakes, spectacular waterfalls, and unspoiled nature. It became famous as a filming location for the Winnetou movies in the 1960s. You can explore the park on foot, by bike, or by boat. A detour is especially worthwhile if you're traveling by car to Novalja.
Regular guided day trips to both parks are offered from Novalja. If you wish, we are happy to organize your trip. Our tip: Combine your party vacation at Zrce Beach with a visit to the Croatian national parks and experience the perfect mix of festival feeling and pure nature.
