Helpful background, tips and explanations in detail.
Rovinj
A worthwhile stop on the way to Novalja and Zrce Beach is the picturesque Rovinj on the west coast of the Istria region, between Poreč and Pula.
Rovinj was originally an island that was only connected to the mainland in the 18th century. Today, the city is a peninsula with around 15,000 inhabitants. In the summer months, the number of people multiplies due to the many tourists who want to experience the special charm of the city.
The heart of Rovinj is the attractive waterfront promenade and the romantic old town. Through Marsala Tita Square, you enter a labyrinth of narrow streets, colorful houses, and historic squares – a journey back in time to the Venetian era of the city. The landmark is the Church of St. Euphemia, which majestically overlooks the old town and offers a breathtaking view of the surroundings.
For beach vacationers, there are many beautiful beaches and coves along the Riviera around Rovinj. In the evenings, you can enjoy Italian flair in the restaurants of the old town and end the day with a glass of wine or beer in one of the bars.
So, if you want to experience not only party vacations in Novalja and at Zrce Beach but also plan a larger tour of Croatia, you should definitely add Rovinj to your list. We are happy to assist you with tips on accommodations, beaches, and sights.
