Population
Helpful background, tips and explanations in detail.
Croatia has around 4.2 million inhabitants, of which about 10,000 people live on the island of Pag. The largest town on the island is Novalja with around 4,000 residents. Especially in the summer months from May to September, the population increases significantly due to the numerous tourists who come for Zrce Beach and the beautiful surroundings.
The people in Croatia largely live from tourism and are known for their hospitality. In Novalja, tourism is mainly based on private providers who rent out their apartments and accommodations.
Croatia is a very clean and well-maintained country – however, in Novalja and at the party beach Zrce, it is a particular challenge to maintain cleanliness with so many guests. Therefore, we ask you to do your part: Treat the locals with respect and make sure to keep the land and sea clean. This way, your Zrce vacation in this hospitable country will be even more beautiful and unforgettable.
