Schengen Area
Since when is Croatia part of the Schengen Area?
Croatia has been a member of the Schengen Area since January 1, 2023. This means: There are no more border controls for citizens from Schengen countries when entering Croatia. An ID card is completely sufficient for EU citizens, a passport is not strictly necessary.
For travelers from non-EU countries, the usual entry regulations still apply. Please inform yourselves about the current visa regulations at your embassy before traveling.
